Growing My Manhole Guide

Quick answers before your next run

Find short answers about editions, hunger, upgrades, cards, areas and saves, with links to the complete guides.

Which version should I play?

The developer's itch.io page is an early browser showcase. Steam has separate demo and full-game pages. The edition guide links all three and explains their differences.

Why does my run end so quickly?

In the observed early demo, zero Hunger ends the attempt. Read Hunger separately from Size, then check your movement and available targets. Start with the beginner guide.

What should I upgrade first?

Read the available node's effect against the problem in your last attempt. Supply, travel and collection range are different constraints. Use upgrade priorities rather than assuming every edition has one fixed purchase order.

Is Hypersonic always the best card?

The preview shows Movement Speed +20 and Suction Range −4. The range penalty matters when you already miss nearby targets. The Booster Pack guide explains the tradeoff.

How many areas are there?

The developer names five: Surface, Civilization, Continental, Cosmic and Universe. The area guide separates these names from unconfirmed unlock thresholds.

Is the object list a complete database?

No. The object guide explains the names visible in the preview result screen. It does not invent the remaining tiers, exact object prices or drop rates.

How do I see the upgrade costs?

The preview labels a Display Costs control and shows a Tab prompt. Follow the current build's prompt if it differs. See controls and navigation.

Should I delete data to start another run?

Use New Run on the observed result screen. Delete Data is a separate save-removal action in the early main menu. Read performance and saves before resetting progress.

Does the demo save transfer to the full game?

Automatic transfer has not been confirmed here. Keep your existing progress intact while checking the developer's guidance for the two editions you are using.

How long is the game?

The developer advertises roughly two hours or more for the full game. This is not a completion guarantee or the length of the early demo.

Where can I see larger pictures?

Open the screenshot gallery. Each picture can be enlarged, and the page distinguishes Steam preview images from early browser captures.
